Monster Hunter: World Had Concept Designs For A Lovely “Otokonoko” Handler

The 560-page Dive To Monster Hunter: World book released the other day in Japan, and we got to see some character design concepts for the Handler including an “otokonoko” one that fans are now clamoring for.

The side note on the book describes the design as: “A sketch of ‘Active Boy’ that found its way into the the mix of the development name for Active Girl (=Handler). It looks like a girl, but it’s actually a boy and what not.”

 

It also shows the Field Team Leader exclaiming “I-I was fooled!” on the upper-right.

 

Since being shared on Twitter via @matarou1996 it got over 13,000 retweets and Japanese fans have been clamoring for the design to be added as a skin for the Handler in Monster Hunter: World.

 

We also got a look at a design for a younger Handler character:

This Handler’s design was made to be a younger one of around the ages of 17 to 19.
