As has been the case for the past few Monster Hunter games, Monster Hunter: World will be receiving collaboration armor with Universal Studios Japan, advertising the Monster Hunter: THE REAL attraction at the theme park.
There will be two quests, which can be obtained through different periods of time. Players can receive an ‘Investigation Report’ at the attraction in Universal Studios Japan, containing a product code that can be redeemed on the Japanese PlayStation Store for a ‘USJ Quest Pass’, which allows the quest to be accepted within the time limit.
(The codes must be redeemed by the expiry date. Players without the USJ Quest Pass can still join the quest opened by a USJ Quest Pass holder.)
First quest distribution:
Quest name: USJ: Act, Golden Stars!
Distribution dates: January 19, 2018 – April 26, 2018
Time period for quest: January 26, 2018 – June 10, 2018
Creatable armor/weapons: Azure Star Longsword, Azure Star Palico series
Second quest distribution:
Quest name: USJ: Rise up, Azure Stars!
Distribution dates: April 27, 2018 – June 24, 2018
Time period for quest: April 27, 2018 – August 8, 2018
Creatable armor/weapons: Azure Star General Alpha series, upgrade materials for Azure Star Longsword
By completing the quests, players can receive the ‘Monsters Attack!’ collaboration Guild Card background, and the Title keywords: “Universal”, “Studio”, “Wonder”, “World’s Best”, “Cool Japan”.
The product codes are specifically for Japanese language copies of Monster Hunter: World. One thing to note is that timed exclusive quests are usually released on a wider scale later on. However, this is also the first game with a strict time limit on exclusive collaboration quests.
Monster Hunter: World will release on January 26, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version will arrive later.
