The Monster Hunter Stories 2 update roadmap arrived. Capcom shared an update schedule on Twitter. While we already knew a July 15, 2021 update would add a Palamute, even more Monsties are on the way. In 2021, Monster Hunter Stories 2 will also get new monsters and Monsties like Kulve Taroth, Elderfrost Gammoth, and different versions of Rathalos and Rathian.
Only the first few updates have exact dates. Right after launch on July 15, 2021, the Palamute will appear as a Monstie. On August 5, 2021, the next update will add Kulve Taroth to Monster Hunter Stories 2 as a co-op quest monster. That means you’ll have to work with someone else to beat it. It won’t be available as a Monstie, but you can make equipment from parts you break off during the fight. Boltreaver Astalos and Hellblade Glavenus will also appear in that same August update as new Monsties.
The next two updates arrive in September 2021. First, people will be able to befriend Elderfrost Gammoth, Oroshi Kirin, and Soulseer Mizutsune and make them Monsties in the third free title update. The fourth update will bring a Kulve Taroth (High Difficulty) co-op quest to Monster Hunter Stories 2 alongside the Dreadking Rathalos and Molten Tigrex Monsties.
Finally, there will be an October 2021 update. That will add Gold Rathian and Silver Rathalos as Monsties. There will also be another high difficulty co-op quest. However, the identity of that quest’s exclusive monster was left a secret.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC on July 9, 2021.
