Monster Hunter Rise Won Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2021

Famitsu has announced the winners of the Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2021. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise won Game of the Year in this award presentation. Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Kirby and the Super Smash Bros. series, received the MVC – Most Valuable Creator award.

Votes from the Japanese public determined the nominees in this award presentation. The event also included more awards honoring titles not included in the nominees’ list. Famitsu and Dengeki gave Special Awards to Inscryption, Dungeon Explorers, and Fantasian. Magical Lovely, the Japanese comedian group that hosted the stream, handed its own award to the mobile game Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier.

The Game of the Year winner in Famitsu Dengeki Game Awards 2021, Monster Hunter Rise, is available on Nintendo Switch and PC. Capcom will release Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak on the same platforms in Summer 2022. The company will reveal more details on the expansion with a digital event broadcast on March 15, 2022.
