Monster Hunter Rise Sonic Collaboration Out in November 2021

A new Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration is heading to Monster Hunter Rise this month. Capcom announced that it is collaborating with Sega to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The collaboration will release sometime in November 2021. Capcom will reveal more information at a later date.

The collaboration was teased back in September alongside the Ghosts n’ Goblins event. While Capcom didn’t offer any specific details, the announcement does mention that the collaboration will be in the form of an event quest. If past collaborations are any indication, the event quest will likely reward players with layered armor for their hunters, Palico, or Palamute.

This isn’t the first time Monster Hunter and Sonic have collaborated. Capcom released DLC for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate that allowed players to craft Sonic gear for their Palico. Up until now, all of Monster Hunter Rise‘s collaborations have centered around Capcom titles. This includes layered armor resembling Akuma from Street Fighter, Amaterasu from Okami, Rush from Mega Man, and more. The Sonic collaboration will be the first non-Capcom collaboration event to arrive in Monster Hunter Rise.

Monster Hunter Rise is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch. A PC port of the game will release on January 12, 2022, and a demo is currently available via Steam. The upcoming Sunbreak expansion will release sometime in Summer 2022.
