Capcom is adding the Azure Age armor set, weapons, and buddy gear to Monster Hunter Rise. As part of its yearly collaboration with Universal Studios Japan, the gear will appear in the game starting January 21, 2022. Players can craft the new gear using ingredients acquired through two new event quests.
Most of the Azure gear featured in the new event previously appeared in Monster Hunter World. However, the armor’s skills will likely be different in Rise. In addition to the Azure Age armor, both the Azure Star Blade and Azure Era Wyrmbow (previously Azure Era Soaring Dragon) will also return. Players can also craft the Azure Era Palico armor set and Azure Era Fan. The Canyne Azure Era armor will be entirely new and comes with a Wyrmblade weapon.
As with previous event quests, players will craft the new gear using ingredients acquired through event quests. This time there are two quests. “USJ – Arzuros Onslaught” is a Rampage mission where players will ultimately take down an Apex Arzuros. “USJ – Shrine Showdown!” will pit players against an Almudron, Tetranadon, and Magnamalo.

Back in December, Capcom brought back the Orion starter set from Monster Hunter World Iceborne. Before that, Capcom brought back the Guild Cross armor set to help players get through early quests.
Monster Hunter Rise is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The Sunbreak expansion will release sometime in Summer 2022.
