Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Appears To Be Doing Well In Europe

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate appears to be doing well enough in Europe. The game is reportedly sold out in stores, both on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, with more stock to arrive later this month. Earlier in the week, Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata tweeted:

“I’d like to apologise for the current stock shortage due to high demand of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate at retail. New #MH3U stock will hopefully be available in shops next week for Wii U and mid April for Nintendo 3DS. Both versions of #MH3U are also available on Nintendo eShop. Again, I sincerely apologise for causing any inconvenience.”

Without actual European sales figures—which we may never see—it’s hard to form an accurate image of just how the game is doing, but shortages are rarely bad news, since they usually tend to mean that demand is outstripping supply.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is being distributed in Europe by Nintendo. Nintendo are responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the game throughout Europe and Australia, with Capcom remaining as publisher.

The game was released in both North America and Europe last month, with the 3DS and Wii U versions capable of playing together, and the Wii U version being able to go online as well. Capcom have an update patch planned for the near future, that will make Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate playable without a TV on Wii U.
