Monochrome Mobius Launch Delayed

Monochrome Mobius Launch Delayed Again Due to Coronavirus Concerns

Aquaplus announced it has delayed the launch of the upcoming Utawarerumono RPG Monochrome Mobius: Rights & Wrongs Forgotten. The game will release on November 17, 2022, just short of a month after its previously intended launch date. This is the second time Aquaplus has delayed the game, previously announcing a one-month delay back in July 2022. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The company apologized to fans, explaining that the most recent delay was due to an outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus within the development team. Aquaplus added that, while development progress was in the final stages, it had decided to delay the schedule out of concern for the health of affected staff members. Furthermore, publisher Shiravune noted that all infected staff members have already recovered, and that development is “back on track” for the new release date.

Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten is the latest upcoming video game in the Utawarerumono franchise. It will be a prequel to the Utwararerumono: Mask of Deception video game, and feature Oshtor as the central protagonist. Unlike previous games, it will be a traditional JRPG and feature field exploration as well as turn-based battles. Furthermore, the game will also appear in the Happinet booth at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten will release on the PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on November 17, 2022. It will release on PC via Steam outside of Japan with English and Chinese language support.
