KanColle is coming to arcades with 3D character models and a unique arcade cabinet. The KanColle Arcade machine has a mini ship wheel and telegraph to steer the moe warships the series is known for. Players start by scanning trading cards then arranging their warships using drag and drop controls. Then you can search for enemy ships in the open seas.
When you find an enemy you can choose to do a preemptive strike or a simultaneous attack. During battle you press the button between the ship controls when the target’s icon is in the right place to strike. It seems like the battle system is all about timing. KanColle Arcade has 3D character models which you can see when battling enemy ships.
After you finish a battle there’s a chance you’ll get a trading card. Players can combine trading cards to get even more powerful ships. While unseen in the West, quite a few Japanese arcade games including the Yo-kai Watch and Puzzle & Dragons arcade machines have print trading cards.
KanColle Arcade comes out in Japan this summer.
