Microsoft Acquires inXile Entertainment & Obsidian Entertainment

After recent rumors of Microsoft in talks to acquire Obsidian Entertainment, Microsoft announced yesterday that the studio is being acquired, alongside inXile Entertainment.

 

 

Both studios are known for making RPG series, with Obsidian having worked on games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and South Park: The Stick of Truth. Meanwhile, inXile Entertainment is known for The Bard’s Tale series, as well as Wasteland 2 and Wasteland 3.

 

Microsoft Studios head Matt Booty teased that both studios have some things in the works that will come out soon, and will be helping Microsoft develop new exclusive games which will also be part of Xbox Game Pass.
