Before Atlus got their hands on Touch Detective and Operation Darkness, they worked with Success to bring Metal Saga to North America. Metal Saga was a follow up to the post apocalyptic RPG series Metal Max and so far it is the only game in the series to be localized in English.
Kadokawa Games along with the Crea-Tech, the developer that started the series, acquired the rights from Data East. The two companies continued Metal Max series with numbered entries for Nintendo DS and more recently Metal Max 4 for Nintendo 3DS. Meanwhile, Success will continue Metal Saga with Metal Saga: Ark of the Wasteland. This game is in development for iPhone and Android. Metal Saga: Ark of the Wasteland is the first game in the Metal Saga branch since the Success’ browser game back in 2010.
