Back at Konami, Imaizumi worked on Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and was the producer of Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid 5, and Metal Gear Rising. He would then leave alongside Hideo Kojima to found the independent Kojima Productions.

While the reason for Imaizumi’s departure following Death Stranding, Kojima Production’s first game, is unclear, it seems that disagreements with other directors may have been the cause.

Death Stranding is available for PlayStation 4.
