Metal Gear Solid Codec Pins Appear in November

The iconic Metal Gear Solid Codec character portraits will appear as pins that light up in the dark. Bushiroad Creative is planning to release the pin badges as capsule toys in Japan sometime in November 2024, and each one will cost 300 yen (or approximately $2.)

The 8 characters featured in the new line of Metal Gear Solid Codec pin badges include Solid Snake, Colonel Roy Campbell, Master Miller, Mei Ling, Meryl Silverburgh, Naomi Hunter, Nastasha Romanenko, and Hal “Otacon” Emmerich. Each pin is approximately 45mm tall, or about 1.77 inches.

Each pin will feature one character with two portraits available, their default portrait and an alternate one. For example, for Solid Snake the alternate portrait is shirtless Snake, for Master Miller it is the “real” appearance of the character without wearing glasses, and for Otacon it is the zoomed-in desperate version of his default portrait.

The MGS series has seen a recent surge in popularity due to the release of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 in late October 2023, as well as the announcement of the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.

The original Metal Gear Solid is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC as part of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1.
