At the very end of the ‘Rockman Unite’ event celebrating the Mega Man series’ 30th anniversary, a new artwork showing off a redesigned Axl alongside X and Zero for the Mega Man X series’ 25th anniversary was shown off. [Thanks, Rockman Corner!]

Said design is called the “Ver. Ke” design, drawn by Capcom illustrator Keisuke Mizuno. The previous two Ver. Ke designs for X and Zero appear in the latest illustration, with the X design based on what was an April Fool’s joke that got turned into a real figure by TruForce Collectibles on Kickstarter. The Zero design was shown off in Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite as one of Zero’s alternate costumes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it was then announced by figure and model maker Kotobukiya that they are making a new line of plastic model kits for the Mega Man X series, which starts off with X himself. The model kit will be shown off for the first time during Winter WonderFest 2019 on February 10, 2019.

While it may be too early to see if this hints at anything towards a potential Mega Man X9, Mega Man 11 was hinted at in a similar way early on, with Roll getting an anniversary redesign that would be revealed to be her Mega Man 11 design.
