Mega Man Battle & Fighters on Nintendo Switch

Mega Man Battle & Fighters Appears on Nintendo Switch

SNK has released Mega Man: Battle & Fighters on the Nintendo Switch. Even though Mega Man is Capcom’s franchise IP, the Nintendo Store entry lists SNK as the publisher. This game is part of the latter’s initiative to bring ports of NeoGeo Pocket Color games to the Switch.

This compilation consists of two NeoGeo Pocket Color games — Mega Man: The Power Battle and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. While Capcom had included the arcade versions of both games in Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium (now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch), the NeoGeo Pocket Color versions feature 8-bit pixel graphics. The compilation still includes bosses from the first to seventh Mega Man games. Bass and Mega Man 8‘s Duo also join Mega Man and Proto Man in the playable character roster.

Meanwhile, Capcom is preparing another project to revitalize the Mega Man franchise. In late June 2022, the company revealed Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. The newest compilation in the Legacy Collection series for the Mega Man franchise will contain all six mainline Battle Network iterations from the Game Boy Advance, including the two different versions for the later titles. Capcom will release it for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2023.

Mega Man Battle & Fighters is now available on Nintendo Switch.
