Nintendo shared some videos of Zelkov, a new character in Fire Emblem Engage. Zelkov is a royal soldier of the Kingdom of Elusia and Princess Ivy’s retainer. He is a quiet individual who can easily become absorbed in what he’s doing. Everything he says sounds like it holds a hidden meaning.

Zelkov’s starting class is thief, similar to another party member, Yunaka. Thieves are proficient with knives and are capable of picking locks. While his appearance may make people think he is brooding and distant, Zelkov is actually very friendly to his allies.
In a scene with Alear, they discuss the meaning behind having hobbies, passing the time, and his life philosophy. Alear points that Zelkov is a very deep thinker, to which he remarks that to him that’s not the case. Even their conversation is just a way of passing time and entertain himself.

Zelkov is voiced by Yu Taniguchi in the Japanese dub of Fire Emblem Engage. Taniguchi is credited with multiple roles dubbing foreign films in Japan, along with extra characters in some anime series. This is his first major role in a video game title.
