Over the course of the past few days, the official Identity V Twitter slowly revealed the upcoming cast members. It would tease key visual of the background first, before posting the new costume and character a few hours later. The characters who will receive collaboration skins are:

  • Lawyer as Light
  • Mechanic as Misa
  • “Prisoner” as L
  • Evil Reptilian as Ryuk

All of the Survivors are from the Decoder class, which matches the slower-paced action and focus on mind games from the original series.

The Identity V and Death Note collaboration was announced in late April 2021, though information was much more scarce back then. NetEase has set up a special site for players to get two collaboration essences before the event goes live. You simply need to scan the QR code and connect your account when prompted.

Similar to the last collaboration event with The Promised Neverland, players can get new profile pictures along with the skins. As well, its characters will still play exactly the same. So Light and Misa will not appear as individual characters, but rather they will change the appearances of the existing Lawyer and Mechanic Survivors.

Identity V is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PCs. The Identity V and Death Note collaboration will launch on May 27, 2021 and run until June 24, 2021.
