Meet the Genshin Impact Ganyu Voice Actresses

A new playable character is coming to Genshin Impact, and miHoYo is preparing the way for her arrival with all sorts of information. For example, we know the English and Japanese Ganyu VAs now. Jennifer Losi portrays the five-star Cryo archer in the English translation. Meanwhile, the Japanese Ganyu voice actress is Reina Ueda.

Both actresses may sound familiar to those who watch anime series or play games. People might have heard Losi before as Rinko Kojiro in Sword Art Online’s Alicization arc, Ku in Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and as various characters in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, Kakegurui, SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions, and Welcome to Demon-School, Iruma-kun. Meanwhile, Ueda is in The Caligula Effect as μ, Fruits Basket as Kisa Soma, The Idolmaster: Million Live as Umi Kosaka, Sailor Moon Eternal as CereCere, SINoALICE as Snow White, and most recently SMT III Nocturne HD Remaster as Chiaki Hayasaka.

For people who want to hear the Ganyu VA for themselves, the miHoYo website updated to offer examples of both voice actresses’ work. You can hear samples of both Losi and Ueda’s performances as the heroine. There are also both English and Japanese character teaser trailers, which feature Ganyu talking about Liyue Harbor and working with the player.

miHoYo has gotten into the habit of sharing Genshin Impact voice actor information, now that the game is more established. It started out revealing people’s identities back in November 2020, even revealing who played the Traveler twins and Paimon.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Genshin Impact Ganyu banner will appear after the Albedo banner ends on January 12, 2021.
