UK based Lexicon Entertainment is betting big on a black and white man with a match on his head. Matchman has games in development for the Nintendo DS, Wii and PlayStation 3. The first released game will be for the DS and it’s on track to come out early next year. Afterwards the Wii game is scheduled to come out in Q2 2009 and the PlayStation 3 game in Q3 2009. The game is described as a side scrolling shooter based on Grimm and Anderson fairytales.
What?
OK so Lexicon Entertainment hasn’t outlined what TS-K’s project is, but the concept art is eye-catching. While many developers are trying to push the visual envelope, Matchman is set in a black and white world. The artwork looks like it’s for a flash game rather than a retail PlayStation 3 game. Perhaps, Matchman is an upcoming PlayStation Network game? If this is the case Matchman is likely to come out in North America. Otherwise some publisher is going to have to be brave enough to bring an unknown intellectual property outside of Europe.
