Master music with the DS and Vocaloid character Hatsune Miku

Hatsune Miku is an anomaly. The anime-like character was designed as a face (i.e. marketing purposes) for Yamaha’s type-to-sing voice synthesizer and strangely she’s become an icon. Let’s say she has enough of a fanbase to star in a Nintendo DS game where she “teaches” people how to play instruments. In 13-sai no Hello Work DS Ms. Miku (Ms. Future) aqua colored notes scroll from left to right and players touch a keyboard in time to hit them. After you perfect guitar chords by hitting a keyboard (?) you get to accompany Hatsune Miku while she sings. Yes, her synthesized voice is part of the experience.

Digital Works Entertainment has 13-sai no Hello Work DS slated for a spring release in Japan and it seems unlikely we will see this in North America. Unlikely, but possible. Nippon Ichi Software put Hatsune Miku in Tori no Hoshi: Aerial Planet and NIS America has a casual games label. If anyone is going to localize this I suppose NIS America is the prime candidate. Speaking of Tori no Hoshi: Aerial Planet, I played it and impressions are coming sometime this week.
