While Spider-Man, the PS4 and PS5-exclusive Marvel’s Avengers character, didn’t appear during the March 2021 Square Enix Presents presentation, there is an update regarding him. Crystal Dynamics Studio Head Scot Amos told IGN he’ll appear after Black Panther.
Amos offered a few statements regarding Spider-Man’s upcoming experience. These confirmed that the character is in development. More specifically, he mentioned to IGN that the DLC “is still on our roadmap for the future” and “we still fully expect Spider-Man to come to PlayStation."
Square Enix announced the PS4 and PS5 Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC back in August 2020. At the time, it said people could expect the free character to appear in 2021. The company and Crystal Dynamics didn’t really mention anything about him after that. He also didn’t show up in the latest roadmap image shared at Square Enix Presents. The only new character who did is Black Panther, who will be part of the Black Panther: War for Wakanda expansion sometime in Summer 2021.
Marvel’s Avengers is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia. The most recently released new character is Clint “Hawkeye” Barton and his Operation: Hawkeye Future Imperfect storyline.
