The final Rebuild of Evangelion movie is about to appear. Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time will finally air in January 2021, which means we’re seeing more merchandise inspired by the film. The latest is a Kotobukiya Evangelion KAI Unit 08 GAMMA model kit, which is inspired by the unit Mari Illustrious Makinami used in Evangelion 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo and that will appear in the new movie. It will launch in May 2021.

The Evangelion KAI Unit 08 GAMMA model will be 1/400th scale and will include colored runners and pre-painted parts. This means someone could assemble it as-is, without additional painting. It will have two armaments, will be articulated, and is compatible with the MB-48 New Flying Base for additional poses. It also has a movable entry plug for the “pilot” within. A price hasn’t been shared yet, but similar Evangelion model kits from Kotobukiya tend to range between $64.99, like the Unit 02, to $87.99, like the Unit 01.

Here’s a full look at the preliminary kit.

As mentioned earlier, a lot of Evangelion items are on the way. The Tamagotchi Evatchis are will launch outside Japan in June 2021. There are also some watches inspired by characters and a Groundwork of Evangelion Digest coming relatively soon.

Evangelion 3.0+1.0 will appear in theaters in Japan starting on January 23, 2021. The Evangelion KAI Unit 08 GAMMA model will be available in May 2021.
