Mario Sports Mix Slam Dunks Into European Stores In January

Nintendo is beginning to announce Wii games for 2011. Well, at least in Europe. Mario Sports Mix is slated for January 28, 2011 in PAL territories.

The "mix" part of Mario Sports Mix refers to the four sports in the game: basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, and hockey. Each sport has three cups (mushroom, flower, and star) plus mini-games. The basketball mini-game has players feed Petey piranha basketball-sized fruit. Smash skate has four players knock each other off an icy platform.

This game also has a mix of universes. Developer Square Enix threw some Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters into the Mushroom Kingdom. So, you can have a Moogle-Slime-Mario dream team, if you like.
