In Mario & Luigi: The Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, players are essentially getting two games. The first is the remake of Mario & Luigi: The Superstar Saga, the turn-based RPG released first on the Game Boy Advance in 2003. The other is Bowser’s Minions, a real-time strategy game where players aid Bowser’s minions as they stage a rescue operation to get their boss back. A new trailer offers a closer look at how the minion’s side of the game plays.
The two minute video begins shortly after Bowser is separated from Mario, Luigi, and his underlings. As people familiar with this entry may recall, there was a period where he was the brothers’ ally. A lone Goomba rallies, becomes the captain, and brings together enemies to fight. We get to see other Captains in the trailer, like a Boo and Shyguy. We also get to see one of the Koopa Kids, Larry, acting as a minion to fight for Captain Goomba’s cause.
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions releases on October 6, 2017 for Nintendo 3DS.
