SMT V Mara Maria

Mara and Maria Make Appearances in SMT V

Today’s SMT V daily demon digest videos focus on Maria and Mara. Due to the way that Atlus depicts Mara in its games, the character is not safe for work (NSFW). In contrast to the Virgin Mary (Maria) from Christianity, Mara from Buddhism once attempted to seduce Prince Siddharta with beautiful women.

Maria will play an extremely supportive role in SMT V. Aside from her powerful healing with Mediarahan, she can also buff all of her allies’ stats with Luster Candy. Lastly, like other demons that hail from Christianity, Maria can use Light elemental magic.

Mara is perhaps one of the more memorable demons in Atlus games due to his design, which he retains in SMT V. While he is capable of physical attacks, Mara seems to specialize in applying the poison status effect onto enemies in-game. Another demon, Girimehkala, makes an appearance at the end of the video, referring to Mara as his superior.
