Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is coming to a PlayStation 3 near you in a unique way. Sega cooked up Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Dreamy Theater, a program that streams data from the PSP game to your PS3 via a USB connection and outputs Hatsune Miku in HD.
On June 24, Dreamy Theater arrives on PlayStation Network for 3,000 yen ($37). It adds playlists to Hatsune Miku: Project Diva’s feature set, which lets users queue up their favorites (called “my best”) and preview videos for viewing on their TV.
Just to be clear, Dreamy Theater is not a port or a new Hatsune Miku game. This is more like a Hatsune Miku only upscaling adapter that requires Hatsune Miku: Project Diva. All of the unlocked songs, modules, edit data, and DLC packs from the PSP game are Dreamy Theater compatible. Sega did not say if data from the upcoming Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd would work with Dreamy Theater or not.
