Spike, makers of Way of the Samurai and Gachitora: The Roughneck Teacher in High School, created a spinoff game where you try to restructure an almost bankrupt maid cafe called Maid Paradise: Shoot for It! Be the Number One Maid! How? Apparently, by playing cards and taking photos. These mini-games are designed to train the maids.
In the photography game, players take pictures to earn points before time runs out. Maid Paradise Cooking is probably the only game that will actually "teach" the maids skills to run the cafe and this just has players press a sequence of buttons.
Maid Paradise also has a quiz mini-game and two card games. You can play trump or spades with the maids. The final mini-game lets you can also give maids massages to restore their health.
Spike could have also called Maid Paradise – DLC Paradise because the 1,800 yen ($22) game is loaded with downloadable content. You only get one maid with the game. Each additional maid costs 900 yen. ($11) A costume pack with a gym uniform, big brother’s Y-shirt, and little devil costume will be available at launch for 500 yen ($6).
Spike also has a prop pack with an exercise bar, color changing floor mat, and stuffed Mono-Bear. Remember him from Dangan-ronpa? These items cost 500 yen ($6) too. Spike plans to release additional props and costumes for the game’s gravure mode feature. Maid Paradise comes out on November 2nd as a PlayStation Network download for PSP.
