Paradox has announced that Magicka 2 will be out for PlayStation 4 and PC on May 26th. It’ll cost $14.99 on both platforms.

As with the first game, Magicka 2 is a co-op action adventure in which you play a wizard trying to rid the world of Midgård of evil. It’s set after the Wizard Wars, so most of the other Wizards have been eradicated, leaving only the mad and the maniacal.

Of course, the spell casting system from the first game returns, allowing for as many mistakes as it does overpowered successes. You’ll be able to combine up to five elements in a single spell to create “thousands” of spells, apparently.

The co-op mode supports up for four players with “hot join” so it’s easy to drop-in and drop-out. Friendly fire is always on too so that the comedy from your failures flows like an electric shock through your best friend’s veins.

You can currently pre-order Magicka 2 for PC as a Deluxe Edition on Paradox’s website. PS4 pre-orders will also be opening up soon.
