Game Freak surprised people on July 3, 2020! Out of seemingly nowhere and with no announcement of any sort, a Little Town Hero Xbox One version has launched on the Microsoft Store. It is priced at $21.49, $3.50 less than the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 releases. As you might imagine, only a digital version is available. [Thanks, Gematsu!]
This comes after a number of Little Town Hero ports. The game began its life as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, with Game Freak developing it and Undertale’s Toby Fox responsible for the soundtrack. Eventually, PlayStation 4 and PC ports were announced, though the PC version ended up delayed from June 2020 to July 2020. NIS America even came in for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 physical copies. Yet with all that going on, an Xbox One version was never mentioned.
Unlike most RPGs, Little Town Hero has players fighting with Ideas. Once you get the right ones, you can face the monsters coming to the town and protect your neighbors from their attacks. Since there is no level grinding, you need to think critically about how you approach every encounter.
The Little Town Hero Xbox One version is immediately available. You can also find it on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, with a PC release on the horizon later in July 2020.
