We got a look at some basic cooking and gathering in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with a glimpse of what you’ll get to do using cooked foods and their beneficial effects.

The footage starts out with Link cooking up some “Hearty Steamed Mushrooms,” which temporarily increases your maximum Hearts. After gathering some Spicy Peppers that raise your body temperature to help withstand the cold, Link cooks up some “Spicy Sautéeed Peppers,” which provides 10 minutes of cold resistance.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, it looks like the cooking system in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will come in super handy, but let’s not forget that they can also get botched, as shown with the “Dubious Food” at the end of the video.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is slated for release in March 2017 for Wii U and NX.
