Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will release sometime in February 2022 for owners of the premium Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. The announcement follows the recent release of Banjo-Kazooie on the same platform.
Majora’s Mask originally released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64 as the follow-up title to Ocarina of Time. Controlling the hero Link, the player must save the parallel world of Termina from a giant moon that will crash into the world in three days. As such, the game features a 3-day time cycle. Recurring mechanics, such as Link’s magical ocarina, are present, as well as new items like transforming masks that give abilities.
While the original release required the N64 Expansion Pak accessory, this time you’ll only need a Nintendo Switch console and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The latest N64 game to join the service’s library was Banjo-Kazooie. Before that, Nintendo added Ocarina of Time and the original Paper Mario. This is in addition to a host of games from the NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis.
Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will release on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack sometime in February 2022. Individual memberships of the Expansion Pack will cost $49.99, and $79.99 for a family membership.
