There’s a hint that we could see amiibo compatibility in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Nintendo confirmed some The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo will be rereleased. To be specific, the four Champions will come back on November 20, 2020, the day the game launches.
Here’s the announcement tweet, which offered a look at Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa’s figures again.

The Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa amiibo were all a part of the second wave of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild figures. In their original game, they could be used to summon up special helmets for Link that were inspired by their Divine Beasts.
As a reminder, the original Hyrule Warriors games supported all amiibo. People could scan them to get extra weapons, with ones from The Legend of Zelda series having a chance of spawning better equipment. Toon Link also ended up unlocking a Spinner weapon for people to use.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and the four Champion The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo will both appear on November 20, 2020.
