Leaked Concept Art Reveals Kinect Adventures Was Originally The Avateers!

To showcase what the Kinect could do, Microsoft released Kinect Adventures! as a pack-in game with the hardware. The game wasn’t always called Kinect Adventures! and it looks as though a fair amount of thought went into what the game should be called until the final title was decided upon. Here’s a few:

These concept designs come from an artist who worked on Kinect Adventures! back in November 2009. While the game’s features had been roughly outlined, the project didn’t have an authorized creative direction to base everything around.

 

The project was originally named Avateers! and the project pushed forward using the name as inspiration for development. Microsoft ultimately released as Kinect Adventures! The concept art below is for vehicles, trophies and interactive critters in the game:
