Nintendo has announced multiple price drops and bundle opportunities to coincide with the 2016 school season in North America. People will have a new means of acquiring the standard New Nintendo 3DS, as well as an opportunity to get classic games either under $20 or with an amiibo.
The New Nintendo 3DS bundle is a white system that gets you started with a game and customization options. In addition to a pre-installed copy of Super Mario 3D Land, it comes with a Super Mario Maker-themed cover-plate and Mario cover-plate. It will only be available at Target and Walmart for $149.99, starting August 26, 2016.
It will be joined by an assortment of handheld and console games that will be added to the under $20 Nintendo Selects line. Nintendo 3DS owners can choose from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Nintendogs + Cats: Golden Retriever and New Friends, and Tomodachi Life. People with Nintendo Wii Us can get The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Lego City Undercover or Nintendo Land for that price. These will all be $19.99 each as of August 26, 2016.
Finally, Nintendo Wii U games will be bundled with certain amiibo beginning September 9, 2016. People will get a copy of one of three games, as well as an amiibo that works with it, for $39.99. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will come with a Toad. Yoshi’s Woolly World will include either blue or pink Yarn Yoshis for the first time. Previously, it was only available in a bundle with a green Yarn Yoshi. Mario Party 10 will be sold with either a Bowser or Peach amiibo.
