Back in March 2017 at GDC 2017, Spike Chunsoft and Kotaro Uchikoshi said they were working on a new game known as Project: Psync. At Anime Expo 2018, the game was revealed to be AI: The Somnium Files. It is an adventure game in development for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.

In addition to Zero Escape’s Uchikoshi, Yusuke Kozaki will be involved with AI: The Somnium Files as the Lead Character Designer. Kozaki is known for his work on Fire Emblem: Awakening, No More Heroes, Liberation Maiden and Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan.

In AI: The Somnium Files, players follow Kaname Date, a detective with an AI in his artificial left eye. He investigates crimes in modern day Tokyo, Japan. In his latest case, he is investigating a serial killer. Thanks to his eye’s AI, he can head into suspects’ and witnesses’ minds, searching their somnium dreamscapes for important information.
