Korone, Other Hololive VTubers Promote Guardians of the Galaxy in Japan

VTuber agency Hololive announced a collaboration with Square Enix to market its upcoming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy title. Inugami Korone, Shirakami Fubuki, and Oozora Subaru will streaming the game on release day, October 26, 2021. To promote the game to Japanese audiences, Square Enix plans Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise giveaways for viewers watching the streams. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

Oozora Subaru’s stream is first, starting October 26 at 10 p.m. JST. Shirakami Fubuki will play the game on October 27 at 9 p.m. JST. The Inugami Korone Guardians stream will begin at 10 p.m. JST on October 28. Five Hololive Guardians fans who win the giveaway will receive a gift box containing a Star-Lord T-Shirt, Star-Lord cap, journal, water bottle, and socks.

Announced at E3 2021 during the Square Enix Summer Showcase, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is developed by Eidos Montreal, and features an original take on the team. Players will control Star-Lord, while Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Drax will be controlled by AI. The game makes use of dialogue trees. Player choices affect the relationships between the Guardians and the outcomes of various missions.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will release on October 26, 2021. It will be available on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. It’s also coming to Nintendo Switch as a cloud streaming title. The Subaru, Fubuki and Korone Guardians streams begin on launch day.
