The Death Stranding PC version is going to have something the standard PlayStation 4 release lacks. That is, it is going to crossover a bit with Half-Life: Alyx. As people play, they’ll be able to find certain accessories for Sam inspired by that game. However, now Hideo Kojima has teased that the Death Stranding Half-Life items might offer some sort of in-game perk too.
In Kojima’s tweet, he showed off both of the Death Stranding Half-Life items. As a reminder, there’s the classic Headcrab enemy “hat” and people can wear Alyx’s Gravity Gloves. These are each directly compared to the in-game items in Half-Life: Alyx.
In the DS PC ver trailer, what Sam is wearing is called the Headcrab and Gravity Gloves from Half-Life. Since those are collaboration items, each one has a special feature. See the comparison of Half-Life: Alyx and DEATH STRANDING below.

The important part is, Kojima said, “…Each one has a special feature.” He didn’t explain what they might do in-game. (In Half-Life: Alyx, the Gravity Gloves seem to work like Half-Life 2’s Gravity Gun.)
The idea that one of Sam’s items could help when equipped isn’t a new element. For example, the Otter Hood given to Sam after aiding the Wandering MC Prepper (Conan O’Brien) will help people swim more adeptly when wearing it.
The Death Stranding PC version will launch on June 2, 2020. Half-Life: Alyx will launch on March 23, 2020 for PCs with VR headsets.
