KOF XV Yashiro Character Design Tried to Preserve His ‘Wild Flair’

After new The King of Fighters XV character reveals, SNK’s shared insights from Character Designer Tomohiro Nakata about them. Yashiro Nanakase is no exception, as the latest tweet offered a peek at his KOF XV concept art and insight into his design. Namely, a goal was to maintain the character’s trademark “wild flare.”

Here’s Nakata’s full statement about Yashiro and his new look. It also brought up how the team needed to spend some time working out his design to ensure it was right.

I have to say, when I first saw the roster lineup for KOF XV, I was extremely happy to see Yashiro on there because so many people wanted to see him again.

This time, his clothes have been redesigned.

But, I was careful not to do anything to damage that wild flair he gives off. Even then, it took a lot of back and forth until we were satisfied with what we have now.

Nakata’s commentary for most characters tends to focus on a certain element of their new design. With Yuri, he talked about her hairstyle in this entry. When it came to Terry, Nakata talked about his “guns.”

The King of Fighters XV will launch in 2021. The most recently revealed KOF XV cast members were Terry Bogard and Yashiro.
