Hope you didn’t clear your schedule specifically to make time for SNK’s KOF XV and Samurai Shodown Season Pass 3 announcement stream. Things won’t be preceding as planned. The company took to Twitter to postpone it.
SNK didn’t offer an explanation for the delay or a new time for it. It originally was supposed to be held at 6pm PT/9pm ET on January 6, 2021. However, it will eventually be rescheduled and an apology was issued for the presentation not taking place as planned.
The big reveal for this event would have been the KOF XV announcement. We know the game is in development and the January 6, 2021 presentation would have been an official reveal of the game. The December 2020 teaser video only offered a quick peek at character designs for Kyo, Shun’ei, and Benimaru.
The Samurai Shodown announcement would have discussed continuing support for the fighter. Back in July 2020, we learned that a third round of DLC characters was in development. This January 2021 stream would have introduced some of the new fighters. A crossover character from The Last Blade and another person will be joining the cast.
Samurai Shodown is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, and an Xbox Series X version is being developed. We don’t know which platforms KOF XV will be released on yet.
