Nintendo is revisiting Kirby Super Star with Kirby Super Star Ultra on the Nintendo DS. The original title was one of three Kirby games in development for  Super Nintendo. Only two saw the light of day as a final product sitting in a story. Kid Kirby got canned.

Concrete details about Kid Kirby are hard to come by, but I think the title explains the general concept. You play Kirby as a kid. Thanks to The Lost Levels and the Flickr account they found we have an actual look at the game. Apparently, DMA Design was acting as the developer. The Scotland based studio also worked with Nintendo on Uniracers, a unicycling racing game that came out in 1994. Uniracers was up to par while Kid Kirby was not which means you’re never going to explore this castle level.
