Before Danganronpa, the Kenka Bancho games were Spike Chunsoft’s take on high school life. Well, at least the lives of badass delinquents called banchos in Japan.
Kenka Bancho 6: Soul & Blood is a beat ’em up where you, Daigo Asahina, can challenge the high school gang leader or just walk around town in wacky costumes. Spike Chunsoft says this game will give players more freedom to explore the city and shops.
They also added in more school events starting with the school entrance ceremony, to tests, to field trips, to sports matches, summer vacation, and graduation. Kenka Bancho 6’s story is told like a manga with comic bubbles and a cel-shaded style.
Kenka Bancho 6: Soul & Blood is in development for Nintendo 3DS. Atlus brought over one game in the Kenka Bancho series, but so far none of the other titles have been released outside of Japan.
