The protagonist Kafka Hibino somehow does not appear in person and is instead shown in the eponymous kaiju form. The other four characters showcased are Reno, Soshiro, Kikoru, and Mina.

The game’s official website also has a link to a recruitment page to help expand its development and operational teams. The job openings range from planners and 3D artists to sound creators and programming engineers.

The webpage also includes statements expressing Akatsuki Games’ desire to release the free-to-play game worldwide. One of the job listings posted seeks marketing promotion staff for international regions with a focus on the Anglosphere. Some of the requirements for this job include business-level language fluencies in both Japanese (JLPT N1 test passed) and English (TOEIC score of at least 800), experience in the marketing or promotional industry for at least 3 years, and keeping up with trends in the online Anglosphere community.

Kaiju No 8 The Game will be available as a free-to-play title on PC via Steam, as well as iOS and Android mobile devices. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan.
