The graphics in Daikaiju Battle Colosseum are far from impressive, but there aren’t many kaiju fighting games on the market this generation. Actually, there aren’t any giant monster games with kaiju monsters this year which made Daikaiju Battle Colosseum from Namco Bandai standout. Unfortunately, the Battle Flow as described by Impress Watch makes the game sound miserable. Speed battles have players shake the remote to fill a meter to see who lunges forward for an attack. In power battles you wildly wave the remote to deal damage. Command battles have the most amount of “strategy” where players point the remote either right or left to input a command. Daikaiju Battle Colosseum was designed so anyone can play it, but being this basic I don’t want to play it anymore. A pity since I dig the campy monster design.
