The end of service for Jump Force will begin with the removal of the game from digital storefronts in the Americas. This is scheduled for February 7, 2022. At that point, all sales of Jump Force, its DLC, and virtual currency will cease on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch storefronts . Players who own the game will be able to download and play it, but new purchases will be impossible. Similarly, any purchased DLC will still be accessible.
Jump Force online service will end later, on August 24, 2022. From that point, only offline content and online versus modes will be available. The multiplayer lobby, online events, clan features, the notice board, leaderboards, online rewards, and online ranked matches will become unavailable.
It was not specified if European, Asian, or Japanese editions of Jump Force will be ending service as well.
Jump Force launched in February 2019 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. It came to the Nintendo Switch in 2020 as Jump Force Deluxe Edition. Developed by Spike Chunsoft, the game united many characters from across the “multiverse” of series from Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump anthology. The premise is based on the Shonen Jump multiverse colliding with the real world, leading heroes like Dragon Ball‘s Son Goku to team up with One Piece‘s Luffy, Naruto Uzumaki, Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach, Jotaro from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and more to keep the worlds from being forcibly united and dominated by villains.
In gameplay, players fight one-on-one using teams of three characters, moving around a 3D arena. At launch, over 40 characters from 16 series were present, with 14 more added via DLC updates. Players could also create a unique character of their own, customizing them with outfits and abilities unlocked in play.
Jump Force will remain available in the Americas on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch digitally until February 7, 2022. Its online service will last until August 24, 2022. The last DLC for the game added JoJo’s Giorno Giovanna and released on April 13, 2021.
