New Jujutsu Kaisen Characters Will Be Voiced by Veteran Voice Actors

With the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen coming to a close, new information about the characters and voice actors in the upcoming Death Painting Arc has been revealed. On March 8, 2021, characters and special messages from the voice actors that play them were revealed on the Jujutsu Kaisen official website. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The newest arc in the series will introduce three new antagonists, voiced by prominent veteran Japanese voice actors. Daisuke Namikawa will voice Choso, one of the newest antagonists in the series. Namikawa is known for voicing Sekiro in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Goemon from the newestĀ Lupin the ThirdĀ movie. Namikawa states that he hopes to “instill a sense of eagerness in the character”, and will “do his best to bring out [Choso]’s unique qualities.”

The second antagonist and Choso’s brother Eso, will be voiced by Nobuyuki Hiyama, who voiced Makoto Kyogoku in Detective Conan. Hiyama says that he “focused on the character’sĀ  sudden changes in emotion, as well as [Eso’s] love towards his brothers” when playing the character.

Finally, the third antagonist and youngest brother Kechizu will be voiced by industry veteran Kappei Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi voiced L in the anime adaptation of Death Note, as well as other popular characters like Inuyasha from Inuyasha and Usopp fromĀ One Piece. He states that he played Kechizu “in the hopes that Kechizu will become a beloved character.”

The newest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen, titled Origin of Obedience“, will air in Japan on March 13, 2021. The anime’s OST will release in April 2021 and have a total of sixty songs.
