Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Prequel Movie Will Appear in 2021

TOHO Animation and MAPPA are working on a Jujutsu Kaisen 0 animated movie adaptation. While few details are available, an official website opened, a first teaser for the movie appeared online, and there is already key art of Yuta Okkotsu.

First, here’s the key art showing Yuta.

Here’s the initial teaser. It starts out with a Suguru Geto appearance, before offering glimpses of characters like Yuta, Satoru Gojo, and Rika Orimoto.

MAPPA’s name should sound familiar. After all, the studio worked on the first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. It is also working on the Chainsaw Man anime and was responsible for the anime adaptations of Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Dorohedoro, The God of High School, and Yuri!!! on Ice.

As for Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the one volume prequel manga is available worldwide. Viz Media localized and released it back in January 2021. It follows Yuta, who is plagued by Rika, a friend of his who died tragically and became a curse. He ends up heading to Jujutsu High.

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie will debut in Japan this winter. The original Jujutsu Kaisen manga is still running in Japan, being localized by Viz Media, and has the first season of its own anime adaptation airing now.
