Details from Netflix’s Media Center page reveal that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean will be a monthly release on the streaming platform. Stone Ocean is the sixth part of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. It featured the series’ first female protagonist Jolyne Cujoh. Back in April 2021, animation studio David Production confirmed the anime adaptation of Stone Ocean. The studio later announced the release window of the upcoming season, though without a specified date or release schedule.
Furthermore, Japanese television channels have not released the official broadcasting schedule. However, the last two seasons of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure have been weekly broadcasts spanning approximately six months, totaling 39 episodes. Therefore, it is likely that Stone Ocean will also follow this schedule. It also means that the monthly Stone Ocean Netflix releases will likely be in four-episode batches releasing after the episodes air. The previous season was simulcast weekly on Crunchyroll.
Past seasons of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are currently available on Crunchyroll and other streaming services. Spin-off series Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, however, is currently exclusive to Netflix. Stone Ocean will debut on Netflix in December 2021, and begin broadcasting on Japanese television channels a month later in January 2022.
