Japanese Clannad Nintendo Switch Release Planned For Spring 2019

Key’s Clannad is coming to another platform. The latest Weekly Famitsu has confirmed that a Nintendo Switch version is in development. Prototype will be publishing it on the system in Japan in spring 2019. (Thanks, Ryokutya2089!)

 

Only two Nintendo Switch Clannad features have been announced so far. One is that it will have some sort of Joy-Con support. The other is that people who play the game with the Nintendo Switch undocked will have the option of using touchscreen controls.

 

In Clannad, players follow Tomoya Okazaki as he attempts to help Nagisa Furukawa revive their high school’s drama club. Along the way, he will be able to follow multiple storylines and even get to form relationships with characters like Nagisa, Tomoyo, Kyou, and Kotome.

 

To give you an idea of what to expect, here is the Clannad opening movie from the upcoming English PlayStation 4 release.

 

 

Clannad is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and PC worldwide. It is It is also available on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360 and Android devices in Japan. A worldwide release for the Nintendo Switch version of Clannad has yet to be announced.
