The series follows a goofy lad named Yoshihiko who begins his journey with an introductory sword and a pair of red & blue 3D glasses. He leaves his small village to find a cure for a deadly plague spread throughout the land. He’s joined by a dashing warrior, Buddha, a saucy girl, and wizard with useless spells. The first spell Merubu uses turns a person’s nose into a pig nose.

The Hero Yoshihiko and the Devil King’s Castle is being made with Square Enix’s cooperation. The video game publisher is even tweeting about it. Check out a preview of next week’s episode here.
