It’s Easy to Form Blade Teams in Honkai: Star Rail

Blade is one of the best DPS characters in the game in Honkai: Star Rail. Not only is his scaling good, but his relative independence means that he can fit into almost any team. However, his tendency to sap away his own HP might make him somewhat difficult to keep alive, especially in the early levels. So until your Blade can solo the enemies, it’s best to make sure he hangs out with a healer or a shielder.

For starters, let’s quickly look at what Blade does. When he uses his Skill, he enhances his Basic Attack and turns it into an AoE. This does not recover any Skill Points. But on the flip side, it also means that he won’t take any Skill Points until he needs to enter the Hellscape stance again. Virtually everything he does drains his health, which is good for his follow-up attack. However, it’s bad because it means he can die if you’re not careful.

Here are some Blade teams you can try out in Honkai: Star Rail

  • Blade | Bronya | Silver Wolf | Huohuo
This is a mono-Wind team in which Blade acts as the solo DPS, with everyone else serving to maximize his damage potential. Bronya and Huohuo can increase how much damage he does, while increasing how many times he moves (Bronya) or helping to give him back his Ultimate (Huohuo). Silver Wolf is good for debuffing the enemy for Blade, as well as planting a Wind Weakness. However, keep in mind that Huohuo is not the best sustain in the world. If your enemy already has a Wind Weakness, you can replace Silver Wolf with a Preservation if Huohuo needs the help.
  • Blade | Jingliu | Pela | Luocha
This is a duo-DPS team in which you take advantage of Jingliu’s passive (which sucks HP from her party) to trigger Blade’s follow-up attacks. You’ll want to use Pela or another Nihility character rather than a Harmony. With a Harmony (unless it’s Ruan Mei), you can only really buff one character. Meanwhile, a Nihility can debuff the enemy to make both deal more damage. You can replace Luocha with another Sustain, but you have to be mindful you pick a good one. This is a party that will definitely keep your sustain on their toes.
  • Blade | Asta | Tingyun | Sustain
This is a slightly more F2P-friendly team in which Asta serves as a sub-DPS and support, and Tingyun serves as a full support. You can use literally anyone for your sustain here. I don’t really recommend Luocha unless you have Blade’s signature Light Cone. This is because he might mess up your HP values and lower how much damage Blade does.
  • Blade | Jade | Bronya | Huohuo
Blade and Jade have a lot of synergy together. Every time Jade consumes Blade’s HP after turning him into her Debt Collector, she adds a stack to his follow-up attack. As well, Blade’s follow-up attack hits all enemies and he’s a Destruction unit who can hit three enemies at the maximum with his Enhanced Attack. This means that he can also provide Jade with a lot of stacks for her follow-up attacks. Bronya is a great support who can give Blade more turns and Huohuo is a good sustain who can provide the team with extra Energy.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. You can only pull for Blade while the “A Lost Soul” Character Event Warp is active.
